Beltane dancesForming a triptych, the quilt represents a dance to and of Creation. The tradition in the northern hemisphere has been to dance around a 'may-pole' holding colourful ribbons, symbolising the renewal of the life-giving energies. The central motif of the half moon represents life waxing into fullness. In Australia, the season of rebirth takes place at the beginning of November, so we need to do a dance around the 'Nova-pole'.
